Faith & Scripture

Serving at the altar is a wonderful way to grow closer to God. Reading the Bible is another — and it's always a good idea!

Why Read the Bible?

The Bible is God's Word to us. By reading it, we learn about His love, His plan for us, and how to live as His followers. As an altar server, you are already close to the Word proclaimed at Mass — take that relationship even further!

Tips for Reading the Bible
  • 1Start with just one chapter a day — even 5 minutes makes a difference.
  • 2Read the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday to prepare your heart for Mass.
  • 3Keep a small Bible or Bible app handy so you can read during quiet moments.
  • 4Talk about what you read with your family, friends, or parish group.
  • 5Don't worry if you don't understand everything — ask your priest or a catechist!
